The Archana Sharma Foundation of Calcutta, a registered Society under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961, was founded by Professor Arun Kumar Sharma in the year 2009 in the memory of Professor (Mrs.) Archana Sharma. The society was established and started functioning from the Department of Botany, University of Calcutta and is a non-profitable organization. The society started with a nine member group in 2009 and has presently 12 Governing Body members and 20 General members.
22nd All India Congress of Genetics and Genomics (AICGG) organised An International Conference on “Organismal & Environmental Genomics” (ICOrE-G) jointly with Birla Institute of Technology and Archana Sharma Foundation of Calcutta at the BIT, Mesra, Ranchi- 835215, on 5-6 January, 2026.
